Must Know Birthday Party Tip #3

Okay, you are going to have a party.  Now, think about this: do you want the party to last all day?  I don’t think so.  It is so very important to actually establish a time limit for the event.  This is so important.  Now, if you child is a toddler, this process will be much simpler.  Toddlers tire quickly and the other parents may have theirs on a strict routine.  So, generally speaking, keep the time to one hour or even one and a half hour at the most.

For ages in the K to 3rd grade, things get a little more complicated.  At that age, the children’s personality and maturity can play a major roll in the decision.  We suggest, though, that a maximum of three hours be planned.

Older children will sometimes think the party should go on all day and all night!  This is where some negotiation skills will be handy.  Make your plan and then make a point to not deviate.
