Must Know Birthday Party Tip #9
When I was a kid we did not have pinatas at our birthday parties. I guess it was due to the fact that I grew up in the Northeast. I had never heard of a pinata until we relocated to the West Coast. If you plan on having a pinata it would be best to put together a set of rules for its use. This past Saturday, one of the birthday party shows we performed at, as Mister Illusion Magic Productions, included a pinata, and there were no predetermined rules for its use. As a result there were some tears and some minor injuries. It need not happen like that.
Pinatas can be filled with anything which makes it great for any age group. Keep in mind that younger children may not have the strength to hit the pinata, and older children may have too much strength. Some pinatas come with a string for instant opening and this can come in handy.
It is possible that there may not be enough candy to go around in the pinata, so we suggest you have extra candy handy. This will prevent anyone from feeling left out. As we witnessed this past weekend, be sure to hang the pinata in a sturdy location and away from anything breakable. The kids really love this party feature, but keep all the children back when one of them is taking their turn at swinging.
One of the great things about what we do as Mister Illusion, is we get to go to a lot of parties and meet some really neat people. Having a magician at a kid’s birthday party really ensures that memories of that party will be forever. Why not give us a call to see how we can add some pizzaz to your next event. Birthday parties, banquets, fun nights, seminars, library presentations, anniversaries, picnics,…..whatever. We have had experience with all kinds of events.
